In order to get a view of the vast expanse of Tokyo we head to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings.
The 243 meter tall building has two towers, and each houses an observatory at a height of 202 meters.
You can see all of Tokyo from the 202-meter high observation decks, located on the 45th floor of Main Building No. 1.
It’s completely free – which is a rarity in the pricey city. From your vantage point you can see the vast, glimmering city spread out below you like so many spilt gemstones.
With my camera pressed against the windows I manage to get some ok shots, it’s a shame there’s no outdoor balconies to get clearer pictures though.
