Mantees and neon nights

We’re on the final countdown now of our epic Florida trip!!

So another whizz around some of the gleaming high rises of Miami is in order.

Miami is a city of contrasts from steel spires of modernity to pockets of poverty worse than almost anything we have seen.

From neon nightlife to blood spatters on the sidewalk, pristine sands to a homeless population ravaged by drugs, unemployment and social apathy.

But it’s certainly a constant surpise with secrets to share around every corner.

It’s not often, at least for us English folk, that you can be walking through a hectic city and find some elusive critters just floating around!

But that was the case as we flopped by a river in Miami to take a break from the heat.

What did we spot? A platoon of water potatoes. .. AKA manatees!!

We head over to Miami Beach for a last sunset and it is a pastel dream.

Then as the sun sinks, the city glistens in all its nighttime glory including Bayside and Brickell.

Each highrise glistens as if sprinkled with neon glitter against a sumptuous velvety sky.

Charting our last day tomorrow and I can’t believe its already been six months since we visited!!
