Methoni

Another day, another greek adventure and this time we’re headed to Methoni.

The Castle of Methoni is a medieval fortification in the port town of Methoni, Messenia.

The castle occupies the whole area of the cape and the southwestern coast to the small islet that has also been fortified with an octagonal tower and is protected by the sea on its three sides.

Plus I have a girly insect related trauma…

Then we’re off to Koroni. Another quaint little town with a delightful hilltop castle.

An example of Venetian fortress architecture, the castle of Koroni was built by the Venetians in the 13th century and revamped by the Ottomans in the 16th.
