Hot on the heels of our Greek adventure, and keen to make up for two year with no trips abroad, we headed to the Spanish city of Alicante in October 2021. We stayed in the perfectly located My Flats Luxury Downtown. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and all the city attractions. ItContinue reading “Alicante”

Holy crap!
As a final farewell to our amazing Greek island tour we round off our trip with one of the more unusual tourist experiences – loitering near Skiathos airport! Now you might wonder why this is a thing . . so brace yourselves! Got it now? . . Skiathos airport is one of very few placesContinue reading “Holy crap!”
Last Alonnisos
It’s been short and sweet stay on Alonnisos so we’re off again, back to Skiathos for the last few days of our holiday. So last looks at the tiny island of Alonissos as we sail off into the blue. We sail past our previous stop, the little white town of Skopolos. If I squint canContinue reading “Last Alonnisos”
Alonissos town
After our encounter with the local nudist beach we high tail it back to see if the Chora has woken up yet! And we are delighted to see that the shops have thrown open their shutters and started to open up. Whether its painted tin cups or locally made colourful candles, I can’t resist aContinue reading “Alonissos town”
Nudist beach!
While we wait for the old town of Alonissos to wake up, we pop to a nearby beach. This rather disturbing shack proclaims that it is actually a nudist beach!
Alonnisos old town
Alonnisos old town is a sleepy little place that was rescued from virtual abandonment following a natural disaster. When we first arrive in the morning it is completely shut up and still sleeping! So we have a quick mooch around and then plan to come back later. Even shut up and empty, the town hasContinue reading “Alonnisos old town”
Beach variations
Tzortzi Gialos beach and Kokkino Kastro show the vast variation of beaches on Alonnisos. From white pebbles to deep red cliffs, all of the beaches have their own unique characters.
Leftos Gialos beach
A bit of a grey day on Alonnisos as we visit Leftos Gialos beach. This white-pebble beach 7km northeast of Patitiri has a few summer tavernas and sun loungers and is framed by headlands thick with pine forests.
Alonissos
On to the third of our Greek islands now. The smallest of the three on our island hoping itinerary – Alonissos. There’s lots more pebble beaches to explore plus we quickly stop off at Steni Vala harbour to check out the bobbing boats.
Skopolos town
A few more snaps from the gorgeous whitewashed Skopolos Chora now. The town extends up to the Kastro (castle) which is the perfect spot to grab a cool drink and enjoy the view out. Skopolos town was designated a ‘traditional settlement’ in 1978 due to its beautiful character and authentic architecture that has remained relativelyContinue reading “Skopolos town”
