A flying visit next to the Mamma Mia beach – Paralia Kastani. One of the sandiest beaches on Skopolos (as most are shingle or pebble) this crescent of sand had a starring role in the Mamma Mia hit film. Verdant green pine forests tumble down almost to the water while crystal clear waters lap theContinue reading “Paralia Kastani”

Ligaries beach
The first beach of the day is Ligaries Beach. A windswept and lonely spot that is empty save us when we arrive. Getting to the beach can be a bit of a challenge – there’s a dirt road that leads to the beach which is passable with our quad bike but could be a bitContinue reading “Ligaries beach”
Colourful house at lizard
Feeling a bit droopy after being dragged away from Kynance Cove but I am immensely cheered up with the discovery of some colourful homesteads at Lizard. This stunning cerise joy is a vivid sight to behold! Especially when the sunlight hits it. There’s a stately castle that sits above the town which was constructed between 1283 and 1330 by King Edward I. The Edwardian town and castle was the administrative centre of north Wales,Continue reading “Castles and colours”
