Scheduling failed on this post for some reason! So it is out of order (annoying!) After visiting some of Cocoa beach we spot this blue and yellow monstrosity and naturally have to pull in for a closer look. This is Ron Jon’s Surf Shack – the largest surf shop in the world! Clocking in atContinue reading “Surf and sand”

Cocoa village
Sporting a very cute downtown, artsy Cocoa village has a very different feel to many of the anonymous town and strip malls we have seen so far. It feels very much like a perfectly curated ideal of a small town, boho American town that you’d see on a TV show like Ghost Whisperer or SchittsContinue reading “Cocoa village”
Buckle up, it’s roadtripping time
It’s touchdown time for our second trip ever to the good old USA. This time it’s a fortnights fly drive around the sunshine state of Florida. Landing in the smaller, less hectic Orlando Melbourne airport our first stop is to pick up our trusted steed for the next 14 days. We opt for an AmericanContinue reading “Buckle up, it’s roadtripping time”

Aliki quarries
After the refreshing dip at Giola lagoon we head to Aliki ancient marble quarry. They are the partially submerged ruins of a white marble quarry used in ancient Greece for over 1,200 years. Mountains and Marble
Today is a day of contrasts. First up we’re heading up Mount Ypsarion. The green mountain covered with pine trees sets the backdrop for the white sandy island. The highest peak of the mountain is about 1,208m above sea level and it is very breezy! Then from the heady heights to the balmy delights ofContinue reading “Mountains and Marble”
Sveti Stefan
It’s time for some beaches now and one of the most famous sights of Montenegro – Sveti Stefan. First up we head to gorgeous Crvena Glavija beach that has a perfect view of Sveti Stefan island and the beach is nearly empty when we arrive #bliss. We’re intrigued by this abandoned beach bar on Crvina Glavica beach. Such a prime positionContinue reading “Sveti Stefan”
Ulcinj
Ulcinj is the most Southern town in Montenegro, on the border of Albania. It is one of the oldest settlements in the Adriatic coast and was founded in 5th century BC. We visited on one of the hottest days so far, making it a very uncomfortable experience! The beach is heaving with oiled up sunseekers.Continue reading “Ulcinj”
